Whilst working on my Visual Language work and illustration for "What is Drawing?" I was looking at the work of David Foldvari. HIs simple illustrations and use of bold colors is really effective and caught my eye.

David Carson

As a part of my 100 Book Brief i am researching typography as i am using words. David Carson is the 'Daddy' of typography.

His work stands alone with his original style and inventiveness, constantly pushing the boundaries of type.

I also like the way he uses type with photography.Two of my favored medias.

Dan Holdsworth

This is the work of Photographer Dan Holdsworth. If first came across his work when visiting the Northern Art Prize exhibition in the leeds Art Gallery.

He uses a very slow shutter speed, sometimes up to and beyond 8 hours. To achieve this he built his own camera to allow for such exposures.

He takes pictures of the derelict and unknown places on earth and produces spectacular photographs.

Creative Inspiration Right Under My Nose

This is the work of the Why not Associates, in my home town of Morecambe.

They have designed and created the very famous Eric Morecmabe statue and surroundings, which people travel from all over to come and see.They have incorporated brilliant typography into the surroundings which looks absolutely amazing.

They have also written and 200m (aprox) section down a path in a  different location which has numerous clever phrases and sayings which are really interesting to read. All is done in a range of type faces and all out of granite and stone embossed into the pathway.

I urge people to go and see it for themselves as it is a great piece of Graphic Design

I came across her in a book i have and really liked her work, especially "Antibook", this is a book constructed very cleverly in an origami  style with type.

A good visual and research point for the current 100 book brief.
